Mist of Misery initiated their musical voyage back in 2010, March. The band is having two Extended Plays and one Full Length on their discography. They are set to release their second full length from Black Lion Records in the early August.
Their new album, entitled as “Absence” is a huge step forward in terms of production, song writing, lyrical depth and overall atmosphere. Mist of Misery has entered a new phase, one that aims to evoke depressive, melancholic and ambient atmospheres in the minds of listeners at a whole new level. On this album, it was done mainly through the introduction to even more melodic and symphonic influences. The music is intended to set the listener in a different and almost meditative state of mind in order to absorb its true depth. The sophomore album which is a unique amalgamation of two different kind sub-genres, delivers nothing but Nine tracks of Cold, Obscure and Depressive form of Arts. A musical adventure that will eventually bless the listener with a melancholic, yet beautiful experience.
The album was recorded, mixed and mastered in Forlorn Halls Studios and on various private locations in Stockholm, Sweden 2010 – 2016.
The artwork was drawn by the exceptionally talented Russian artist Alex Tartsus.
DARKTHRONE will release their new album, "Arctic Thunder", on October 14 via Peaceville. The CD marks the band's first new studio material since 2013's triumphant "The Underground Resistance", its most successful release in recent years.
The song "Tundra Leech", taken from "Arctic Thunder", can be streamed below.
An eclectic mix of free-spirited '80s-fueled blackened heavy metal, all executed in DARKTHRONE's trademark raw and organic style, "Arctic Thunder" was recorded and produced by the band themselves, with the sessions conducted at DARKTHRONE's old rehearsal unit, The Bomb Shelter, which was originally used during 1988-1990. Mastering is once again handled by Jack Control at Enormous Door.
With themes based around hate, contempt, and the inner mind and soul, and with the notable presence of Nocturno Culto on vocal duties across all songs for the first time in recent years, "Arctic Thunder" retains a grim atmosphere throughout the album's eight tracks.
BROKEN HOPE have set "Mutilated & Assimilated" as the title of their seventh album, to be released before the end of the year.
According to a press release, the follow-up to 2013's "Omen Of Disease" possesses an extra-special touch as "all of Jeremy Wagner's and Damian Leski's rhythm guitar tracks feature the boys using only the original Jeff Hanneman [SLAYER] guitars Wagner acquired from Hanneman's estate last year."
Said Wagner: "These famous axes have already inspired and channeled many of the riffs I wrote for the next full-length.
"I feel a real responsibility to Jeff and to [Hanneman's widow] Kathryn to use these guitars in a way that honors him. As long as I own these guitars, I will use them and carry on Jeff Hanneman's legacy. He remains a huge influence to me, and I probably wouldn't be here as an extreme metal guitarist/lyricist without him."
Godfathers of death metal genre to release new album in 2017
Morbid Angel, the Tampa, Florida-based death metal legends, are proud and excited to announce they have signed with UDR Music for all territories exclusively outside Japan. Featuring founder-member and venerated guitar legend Trey Azagthoth plus returning long-time member bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, Morbid Angel are delighted to be back working with people who know metal music and will ensure the band reaffirm their status as the world’s greatest death metal band.
“We are extremely excited to be in this partnership with UDR!” says Tucker, “we are looking forward to making a great album and destroying the stage at many shows. UDR is a great label that supports the bands that they believe in, and we are proud to be one of those bands! Looking forward to a successful Partnership !!!!!!”
Formed in Charlotte, North Carolina during 1984, Azagthoth played with several line-ups before joining up with David Vincent and Pete Sandoval from grindcore specialists Terrorizer, as well as Richard Brunelle. It was this line-up which recorded and released the first Morbid Angel album in 1989, Altars Of Madness, which is widely recognized as a masterpiece and one of the major cornerstones of death metal music. Their intricate yet incredibly heavy music, featuring Azagthoth’s supremely technical yet ferociously feral guitar work, has seen Morbid Angel become one of the top selling death metal bands in the world.
While there are no specific details at this moment, Azagthoth and Tucker both look forward gleefully to writing and recording Morbid Angel’s ninth studio album, to be released sometime in 2017, and to taking Morbid Angel back out on tour.
Striking a consistent chord of dark, dissonant death-metal empathy with their loyal fanbase, and with the world in its current state, this is the perfect time for Morbid Angel to ascend once more.
Turkish technical death metal assassins CARNOPHAGE will release their sophomore full-length via Unique Leader Records this Fall. Titled Monument, the nine track punisher was recorded by Unsal Ozata at Studio Deep (Burial Invocation, Cenotaph, Decaying Purity, Inhuman Depravity etc.), mixed and mastered by Sasha Borovykh at TsunTsun Productions (Cerebral Effusion, Soils Of Fate, Epicardiectomy, Fleshbomb etc.), and comes adorned in the tormented, Baroque-era influenced cover art of Cihan Engin. Boasting an inexorable assault of jackhammering blasts, churning riffs, and inhuman death grunts, Monument is true exercise in controlled chaos and, following an eight-year dormancy, finds the band at the peak of their methodical and unapologetically diabolical ingenuity.
Monument will be released September 23rd, 2016 via Unique Leader Records. In the meantime check out “At The Backside Of Our Civilization” below:
Extreme metallers BRUJERIA will release their fourth full-length album, titled "Pocho Aztlan", on September 16 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The release will be followed by a U.S. tour this October alongside CATTLE DECAPITATION and PIÑATA PROTEST.
"Pocho Aztlan" is the band's first release since "Brujerizmo" was released in 2000 via Roadrunner. It was recorded over the course of many years and at several studios around the globe. The end result was mixed by Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, THE EXPLOITED).
"Pocho Aztlan" is now available for pre-order in various formats and bundles from the Nuclear Blast webshop. Fans can also pre-order the album digitally via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play and receive the song "No Aceptan Imitaciones" instantly.
The official lyric video for "No Aceptan Imitaciones" can be seen below.
The second trailer for "Coming Home", the new album from PAIN, the Swedish metal band led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Peter Tägtgren, is available below. The follow-up to 2011's "You Only Live Twice" is due on September 9 through Nuclear Blast and features cover artwork by Stefan Heilemann.
Tägtgren, who last year collaborated with vocalist Till Lindemann of German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN on the debut album from their LINDEMANN project, stated about "Coming Home": "Musically, the album is a development of where PAIN and LINDEMANN ended at — more experimental than what I've ever done before. Acoustic guitars and a helping hand again from Clemens of CARACH ANGREN with the orchestra arrangements, and some guest vocals. And Sebastian Tägtgren did a great job on the drums."
The official lyric video for the song "Black Knight Satellite" can be seen below.
ASPHYX will release their new studio album, "Incoming Death", on September 30 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Deathhammer" was recorded at several diffferent studios throughout 2016 and was once more mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who previously worked with the band on the "Deathhammer", "Death…The Brutal Way" and "Live Death Doom" releases.
Commented ASPHYX vocalist Martin Van Drunen: "Four and a half years after the release of 'Deathhammer', we finally managed to finish its long-awaited successor. Expect eleven unmerciful battering tracks in the typical ASPHYX death/doom style, but also the most varied ASPHYX material up to date without losing our rawness, brutality and heaviness.
"The album will be entitled 'Incoming Death'. And like 'Deathhammer', it's a phrase that doesn't really exist, but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus 'Incoming Death' implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous ASPHYX death/doom metal!"
He continues: "Serious ear bleeding is guaranteed! It's also our first record also featuring 'Husky' on drums, who is now with us for already two and a half years molesting the pig skins with the absolute perfect ASPHYX attitude, passion, pride and mayhem.
"We are very proud of this best ASPHYX album ever! And knowing our dedicated fans worldwide, they will be proud of us as well! Soon we will hit the stages on every continent to do what we do best: intense, loud, sweaty, filthy and ruthless live performances!"
"Violence", the new video from Florida death metal veterans OBITUARY, can be seen below. The clip features animation by Balázs Gróf.
"Violence" is taken from OBITUARY's ninth studio album, "Inked In Blood", which sold around 5,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 75 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Lord Impaler have recently made available a free compilation containing 17 songs or a decade’s worth of
music, under the title “Demology, The Decade of Obscurity”.
The band’s vocalist, Tragon, issued the following statement: «On May 13 2016, Lord Impaler stepped on a
stage for the first time after 16 years. Our previous gig happened in July 2000. We were working hard all
these past months to give the best show we could, and I hope we delivered a memorable performance. We met and talked to people attending the show who weren’t even born when we started our journey as a band.
A journey with ups and downs, with twists and turns. And we wanted them to be able to retrace it, from the first dark days, all the way to making our debut album. So we prepared this compilation. DEMOLOGY, The Decade of Obscurity contains all of our demos, plus some unreleased songs. We have treated the sound a bit, to make them listenable, to remove some tape hiss, to bring them to the same volume level, but otherwise we fixed nothing else. This is our history and we are proud of it, because each of these songs has had its role into making us what we are today. This collection is FREE for anyone who wants to discover Lord Impaler. We hope you will enjoy it.»
