Swedish Black Metallers DARK FUNERAL have posted the following message on their web site: "We have just signed a new record deal with Regain Records, not a day too late! We are currently busy setting up plans for the future of the band among many other things. We will also start finalizing the material and songs for the new album. We want to hit the studio ASAP! Anyway, lots of things are happening right now, finally!. From now on we will do our best to keep you as up to date as possible, with the progress on the new album etc...".

"We have also confirmed to play this years edition of Metal Mind Festival in Poland (March 12). And on the 13th we begin the 16 date No Mercy Festival tour, with SIX FEET UNDER, NILE among others. This tour will however not affect our song writing process. We have already made arrangements for this and will set up a small but decent studio on the tour bus so we can work effectively on the new album while on tour".

Polish Death Metallers VADER will enter Hertz Studio in Bialystok in early July to record a brand new mini-CD under the working title of "The Art of War".

The CD will be produced by the Wieslawscy brothers and will contain "three extremely intense and fast cuts and one song in the vein of the band's typical style", according to a posting on the group's web site. "The Art of War" will also contain a special bonus video clip for the title track. "It's going to be something really new, unconventional and powerful, expect the unexpectable (the production itself has taken almost 5 months)!" reads a posting on the band's web site.

In other news, VADER fulfilled their contractual obligations to Metal Blade Records with the release of their most recent effort, "The Beast" (2004), and are currently negotiating with several labels about a new deal. An announcement regarding the group's new label home will be made soon.

Salem released another video "Ha'ayara Bo'eret" off their second release "Kaddish" (1994), now available as a free download through their website The cover song "Ha'ayara Bo'eret" (The Town is on Fire) was written in 1928 and has since been identified with the holocaust. The Israeli parliament originally banned the broadcast of the video, claiming a Metal cover of such sensitive material was inappropriate. After discussions at the parliament , the band proved that this song was more than just a gimmick (most band member's grandparents were Holocaust survivors), the ban was removed and the video was broadcasted on national television. This video is also available on Salem's latest DVD "Live Demise".

It's very hard for us to make this announcement, but since rumours are already out on the Internet we must make an official statement: Mieszko Talarczyk is missing in Thailand. Mieszko and his girlfriend went to Thailand to spend the holidays. They left a few days before Christmas and were scheduled to return right after New Years Eve. They were staying in a bungalow at Phi Phi Island and when the big wave came and swept the bungalow away the two were seperated. Mieszko's girlfriend is being reported hospitalized "badly injured" but she has been in contact with among others Mieszko's sister who has been posting an "I'm looking for..." at the Phuket Disaster Forum. This is everything we know right now. Since we are all shocked by this surreal situation we strongly advice fans of Nasum to respect the anxiety we and the Talarczyk and Thorén families feel at this time, and NOT post questions by email or in the guestbook at We will post all sorts of news on the website, but again, please respect our wish in this uneasy time. Sincerely, Anders, Jon and Urban of Nasum. Source:Official Nasum Web Page

Last December 21st showed the band debut gig in the US at the legendary NYC's CBGB, without any doubt it was a great death metal night at one of the world's rock n roll temples. It was also the first concert with the new line-up, which now features Jose Romero (guitars and vocals), Maciej Kupiszewski (bass) and the ex Immolation Alex Hernandez (drums)... The show was filmed and is going to be used for the "Wisdom" video clip.
Rawforce Productions has postponed the "Philosopher" South American release to January 15th, due to printing delays. "... heavy but precise black metal menace and the blend of intense melody and intense metalness all work together to produce one of the more creative and accessible pieces of metal around ...", "Philosopher" review published by Fishcom Collective Webzine.
