Turkish technical death metal assassins CARNOPHAGE will release their sophomore full-length via Unique Leader Records this Fall. Titled Monument, the nine track punisher was recorded by Unsal Ozata at Studio Deep (Burial Invocation, Cenotaph, Decaying Purity, Inhuman Depravity etc.), mixed and mastered by Sasha Borovykh at TsunTsun Productions (Cerebral Effusion, Soils Of Fate, Epicardiectomy, Fleshbomb etc.), and comes adorned in the tormented, Baroque-era influenced cover art of Cihan Engin. Boasting an inexorable assault of jackhammering blasts, churning riffs, and inhuman death grunts, Monument is true exercise in controlled chaos and, following an eight-year dormancy, finds the band at the peak of their methodical and unapologetically diabolical ingenuity.
Monument will be released September 23rd, 2016 via Unique Leader Records. In the meantime check out At The Backside Of Our Civilization below:
Extreme metallers BRUJERIA will release their fourth full-length album, titled "Pocho Aztlan", on September 16 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The release will be followed by a U.S. tour this October alongside CATTLE DECAPITATION and PIÑATA PROTEST.
"Pocho Aztlan" is the band's first release since "Brujerizmo" was released in 2000 via Roadrunner. It was recorded over the course of many years and at several studios around the globe. The end result was mixed by Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, THE EXPLOITED).
"Pocho Aztlan" is now available for pre-order in various formats and bundles from the Nuclear Blast webshop. Fans can also pre-order the album digitally via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play and receive the song "No Aceptan Imitaciones" instantly.
The official lyric video for "No Aceptan Imitaciones" can be seen below.
The second trailer for "Coming Home", the new album from PAIN, the Swedish metal band led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Peter Tägtgren, is available below. The follow-up to 2011's "You Only Live Twice" is due on September 9 through Nuclear Blast and features cover artwork by Stefan Heilemann.
Tägtgren, who last year collaborated with vocalist Till Lindemann of German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN on the debut album from their LINDEMANN project, stated about "Coming Home": "Musically, the album is a development of where PAIN and LINDEMANN ended at more experimental than what I've ever done before. Acoustic guitars and a helping hand again from Clemens of CARACH ANGREN with the orchestra arrangements, and some guest vocals. And Sebastian Tägtgren did a great job on the drums."
The official lyric video for the song "Black Knight Satellite" can be seen below.
ASPHYX will release their new studio album, "Incoming Death", on September 30 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Deathhammer" was recorded at several diffferent studios throughout 2016 and was once more mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who previously worked with the band on the "Deathhammer", "Death The Brutal Way" and "Live Death Doom" releases.
Commented ASPHYX vocalist Martin Van Drunen: "Four and a half years after the release of 'Deathhammer', we finally managed to finish its long-awaited successor. Expect eleven unmerciful battering tracks in the typical ASPHYX death/doom style, but also the most varied ASPHYX material up to date without losing our rawness, brutality and heaviness.
"The album will be entitled 'Incoming Death'. And like 'Deathhammer', it's a phrase that doesn't really exist, but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus 'Incoming Death' implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous ASPHYX death/doom metal!"
He continues: "Serious ear bleeding is guaranteed! It's also our first record also featuring 'Husky' on drums, who is now with us for already two and a half years molesting the pig skins with the absolute perfect ASPHYX attitude, passion, pride and mayhem.
"We are very proud of this best ASPHYX album ever! And knowing our dedicated fans worldwide, they will be proud of us as well! Soon we will hit the stages on every continent to do what we do best: intense, loud, sweaty, filthy and ruthless live performances!"
"Violence", the new video from Florida death metal veterans OBITUARY, can be seen below. The clip features animation by Balázs Gróf.
"Violence" is taken from OBITUARY's ninth studio album, "Inked In Blood", which sold around 5,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 75 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Lord Impaler have recently made available a free compilation containing 17 songs or a decades worth of
music, under the title Demology, The Decade of Obscurity.
The bands vocalist, Tragon, issued the following statement: «On May 13 2016, Lord Impaler stepped on a
stage for the first time after 16 years. Our previous gig happened in July 2000. We were working hard all
these past months to give the best show we could, and I hope we delivered a memorable performance. We met and talked to people attending the show who werent even born when we started our journey as a band.
A journey with ups and downs, with twists and turns. And we wanted them to be able to retrace it, from the first dark days, all the way to making our debut album. So we prepared this compilation. DEMOLOGY, The Decade of Obscurity contains all of our demos, plus some unreleased songs. We have treated the sound a bit, to make them listenable, to remove some tape hiss, to bring them to the same volume level, but otherwise we fixed nothing else. This is our history and we are proud of it, because each of these songs has had its role into making us what we are today. This collection is FREE for anyone who wants to discover Lord Impaler. We hope you will enjoy it.»
"Axioma is a Cleveland, Ohio based band melding elements of post, death & dark atmospheric metal. Formed by guitarist Cyril Blandino (Ex-Morgue[France], Forged in Flame), bassist/vocalist Aaron Dallison (Keelhaul, Brain Tentacles), drummer Jon Vinson (Forged in Flame, Jesus Egg) & guitarist Justin Meyers (Aureae Crucis). The band released its debut album Opia in summer 2016, a dark unorthodox mixture of Neurosis, Morbid Angel & Gorguts style arrangements with bleak lyrical context and artwork. Challenging the accepted formats for heavy music Axioma carves a dismal yet progressive path through the soundscape."
Metal Wani recently conducted an interview with MORBID ANGEL and WARFATHER frontman Steve Tucker. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTue clip below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On the progress of the songwriting process for MORBID ANGEL's next album:
Tucker: "It's much further than the initial stage. But, to be honest with you, I really can't go too much into the MORBID ANGEL thing. There'll be press releases coming soon, and there'll be a lot of news on MORBID ANGEL. But we're much further than the first stages I mean, we're much further along. As far as exact times, dates and things like that, there's really nothing I can say at this point. As soon as we have that stuff as soon as things are concrete, it's usually announced with MORBID ANGEL."
On former MORBID ANGEL and current TERRORIZER drummer Pedro "Pete" Sandoval, who now lives his life as a born-again Christian:
Tucker: "As far as all that goes, I think everyone that's ever been involved with MORBID ANGEL loves Pete. Pete Sandoval is a legend himself. I mean, I think he changed drumming. As far as what Pete's doing now and things like that, man I mean, I'll always think of him as one of my best friends, and I think everybody in MORBID ANGEL feels the same way. But I think what Pete's doing right now in life is really Pete's decision, and anyone that doesn't like it, I think they're a hypocrite. He's a grown man who's been around the world multiple times, and he's well capable of making his own decisions."
Legendary industrial/electro metallers ABORYM have revealed the first details surrounding their new album "Shifting.negative". The opus, which is currently being recorded in three different studios, is helmed by band founder & mastermind Fabban with additional production by New York's multi-grammy winner Marc Urselli (John Zorn, Lou Reed, Mike Patton, Tomahawk) at EastSide Sounds Studios.
Amongst those invloved in the production of the album are also the bands sound egineer Emiliano Natali (Fear No One Studios, already on "Psychogrotesque" and "Dirty"), Luciano Lamanna (Subsound Studios) and Teo Pizzolante (Braingasm Lab).
Excluding Fabban, "Shifting.negative" will introduce an entirely new line-up of the Italian based combo. Multi-instrumentalist Dan V has became a new permanent member and has already recorded guitars and bass on the upcoming album. The line-up is further shaped by longtime ABORYM associate & bassist RG Narchost, guitarist Davide Tiso (Gospel of the Witches, ex-Ephel Duath, Niō) and synth-player/keyboardist Stefano Angiulli.
The "Shifting.negative" tracklist in no particular running order is as follows:
Decadence in a nutshell
Slipping through the cracks
10050 Cielo Drive
For a better past
Tragedies for sale
Going new places
You cant handle the truth
"Shifting.negative" is set to be released on Agonia Records at a date yet to be determined. More news will follow soon.
Finnish technical death metal band Denominate signs to Inverse Records.
Denominate is a progressive technical death metal band based in Oulu, Finland. Denominate draws influence from bands like Death and Carcass and blends it together with newer, more progressive and technical elements to create a progressive sound with a touch of old-school.
Denominate's new album, Those Who Beheld the End, which is being released on August 5th 2016 through Inverse Records, is an album that further hones Denominate's sound towards the progressive. Japanese Death Metal flag bearer Defiled is soon releasing their much awaited album Toward Inevitable Ruin', which is a follow up of their 2011s In Crisis, this July via Season of Mist Records.
The label has already premiered two tracks off the album, Force and Obedience and Conspiracy and both songs depict fierce fast riffages accompanied by machine gun drumming that is surely going to wretch your guts out!
Yusuke, the main man and the guitarist of the band states that they tried to keep the guitar sound as clean as it can get without any overdone distortions and that can be clearly heard in the songs. He further add that they have tried to keep the old school elements intact in this record despite knowing that many people might not like it but they are gonna do what they believe in i.e go OLD SCHOOL.
