Prosthetic Records has announced the signing of Greek symphonic death metal quartet SEPTICFLESH.
Band commented : "We are very excited to have signed a new North American deal with Prosthetic Records; we feel we have made the right choice with a label that could give us the right attention for the American market, we plan on striking hard with our next album!"
West Coast blackened death conjurers VALDUR recently added guitarist/vocalist Samuel to their dark legion of wrath.
Comments the band in a collective statement: We are fortunate enough to inject a healthy and brutal dose of diversity into our ongoing journey. The band is hard at work writing a new full-length, and are also setting up a West Coast tour for this summer.
"Umskiptar", the new album from
BURZUM will see North American release on May 22. Finding inspiration from the verses of famous Scandinavia poem Voluspa, Umskiptar is a return-to-roots album.
Says the controversial musician: The vocals are more important than on any previous album with a total of 66 stanzas making up the albums lyrics. Umskiptar expands BURZUMs ongoing influence of Nordic folk, but for this album adds more traditional heavy metal, signature BURZUM composition, and a keener emphasis on vocal delivery once again presented in Vikernes native tongue. Umskiptar (or Metamorphoses) follows the historical story that details the creation of the world and its end as dictated to Odin, a recurring character in BURZUMs lyrics. Umskiptar follows 2011s Fallen. Said Decibel Magazine, pounding, primitive rhythms are lashing by fizzing, frostbitten guitar which swirls in squalls around Vikernes inhuman, agonizing screech; a chilling mesmerizing, unflinching mirror on a profoundly troubled soul.
Finnish black metallers BEHEXEN have inked a deal with Debemur Morti Productions. The band's as-yet-untitled fourth album is tentatively due at the end of September. The nine-song CD will feature cover artwork by K. Lehto from Crimson Wine. The CD and vinyl layout will be completed by Babalon Graphics.
Today California progressive grind conquerors CATTLE DECAPITATION release "Lifestalker," the second single off their new album, Monolith Of Inhumanity!
Set for North American release on May 8, 2012, the record was produced by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio and sees the band exploring innovative new techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage and self-loathing lyrical content.
Comments singer Travis Ryan: We just returned from a great European tour where we played a ton of new songs which were received extremely well by everyone over there! So much so that we decided to premiere the second sample track of our new album Monolith Of Inhumanity on a European website for all our fans and the new fans we just made during this last tour! We had a blast and we hope you all get a kick out of the new track Lifestalker. This new album is light years ahead of the rest of our albums and we look forward to coming back to Europe to decapitate you all with it!
Monolith Of Inhumanity is an achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible to aptly categorize records you will hear in 2012. Dragging their ever-evolving deathgrind sound kicking and screaming into the epic territory inhabited by the likes of Dimmu Borgir and Anaal Nathrakh, the quartet redefine all perceptions of what CATTLE DECAPITATION is. With their seventh full-length, the band have never sounded more focused, aggressive, or maniacally determined to get in the faces of those who erroneously believe theyve already experienced the band at their extreme best.
The 11-track Monolith Of Inhumanity features a host of guests including Mike Majewski of Devourment (guest vocals on "Projectile Ovulation"), Lenard Leal of Cephalic Carnage (backing vocals by on "A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat"), The Cephalic Carnage Community Men's Choir, consisting of all current Cephalic members and alumni Jawsh Mullen and Zac Joe (gang choir vocals on "The Carbon Stampede"), and ambient and noise interludes by Los Angeles' most extreme decimator of sound, John Wiese, as well as another strikingly brutal cover by Wes Benscoter.
Legendary grind merchants PHOBIA are set to scathe the masses with their fifth studio offering, Remnants of Filth, this June.
Produced and mixed by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed) at Visceral Sound Studios in Bethesda, Maryland and engineered by Mike Harrison at Winter Skies Productions in San Antonio, Texas, Remnants Of Filth offers up 18 pile-driving, socio-political grind hymns in 19 minutes. Slated to drop on June 5 through Willowtip Records, the band - vocalist Shane The Pain Mclachlan, bassist Calum MacKenzie, drummer Bryan Fajardo and guitarists Dorian Rainwater and CC Loessin have crafted one of the most punishing efforts of their winding discography of wrath.
Comments Mclachlan of the offering: "Remnants Of Filth is a brutal, in-depth grind record that I feel represents what this band is all about, from past to present. This is total brutal grindcore at its best with nothing less than the 100% punk-as-fuck attitude to compliment what this band is all about!
Legendary death metal legion SIX FEET UNDER unveiled the first single from forthcoming studio offering, Undead. Slated for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records, the 12-track recording was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.
Comments vocalist/death metal ambassador Chris Barnes of the recording: Im in pretty much the best headspace Ive been in since myself and [former guitarist] Allen West started this band in 1993. Im super excited about the new record. Its a rejuvenation; its a rebirth of SIX FEET UNDER, and fans will definitely latch on to my excitement and how focused I am in the lyrics Ive written The hypocrisies of daily life, things that affect us that spawn aggression, loneliness, sadness, theres a lot of emotions going on across the record, and I guess that the dark horror that humans cause is my niche.

Recorded at Saojo Studio and mastered at Hertz Studio(at work with bands like Behemoth, Hate, Vader e Decapitated), the album present 8 tracks of powerful death metal full of blastbeat and granitic riff combined with vitriolic lyrics which represents a face kick to the decline of this society.
Swedish black metal heathens WATAIN are set to unleash a new DVD upon the masses. Titled Opus Diaboli, the production commemorates the bands 13 years of chaos by providing a visual and audio documentation of their ceremonial anniversary concert performance in Stockholm and the long years of physical, intellectual and spiritual work leading up to it. Opus Diaboli is an epic 90-minute journey into the forbidden realms of wild-hearted Satanic metal and the manifestation of a unique band that has truly chosen a path few have ever dared to tread upon.
Comments the band in a collective statement: This movie was first meant to be the recording of our 13-year anniversary concert, but as everything with WATAIN, it took on a life of its own and become one of our most ambitious projects to date. It is a very personal and emotional piece of work and is certainly not for the faint of heart. But for those who wish to explore the glimmering abyss of WATAIN further, this will be a rewarding release for sure. The box version of Opus Diaboli [available exclusively through the bands own WOLFWEAR.NET] contains an exclusive photobook. It was an overwhelming experience going through the massive archives in search of photos that best sum up the storm of passionate turmoil that has marked the WATAIN journey, especially since we wanted to stay away from live photos and focus more on moments off stage. The results were however very satisfying and offer a rare and spicy mixture of photos of which most have never been published previously. We are also proud to announce that this will be the first release on our own label His Masters Noise, a name originating from Bathory who had it in mind for their own label back in the early 1980s. Just like with our merch store WOLFWEAR.NET from which the limited box set will be available, this time we have chosen to stand by our own and do things our way.
Opus Diaboli DVD: A four-panel digipack including the DVD, two audio CDs featuring the full concert plus a 16-page booklet with historical photos and flyers.
Opus Diaboli Box: Limited 12 box including the DVD, two audio CDs and two LPs featuring the full concert plus an exclusive 64-page booklet with historical photos and flyers.
Opus Diaboli will be unleashed in North America on June 5, 2012.
